During his studies he received several national awards for the National Civic Art Society’s Eisenhower Memorial Counterproposal Competition and Philadelphia’s Ed Bacon Design Competition. He maintains an active role in the academic community and regularly participates in architecture student juries at the American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, South Carolina. After completing his education, he returned to Atlanta where he acquired experience in residential architecture under the guidance of Stan Dixon of D. Stanley Dixon Architect.
